The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has transformed 25 busy traffic junctions in Bengaluru’s central business district as part of the Brand Bengaluru initiative, aimed at enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. With a budget of Rs 24 crore, the upgrades include dry fountains, landscaped plantations, LED lighting, swings in select areas, and improved curbstones, designed to create a more pleasant atmosphere for motorists and pedestrians, especially during peak hours. Notable examples, such as Hudson Circle, now feature enhanced illumination and greenery, providing a refreshing experience. Additionally, Race Course Road has introduced fancy benches for pedestrians, encouraging better utilization of these junctions and reducing their potential as traffic black spots, according to BBMP officials.
