NCERA-101 Honored with 2024 National Award for Excellence in Multistate Research

Celina Gómez, associate professor at Purdue University, played a key role in the North Central Extension & Research Activity-101 (NCERA-101) Committee’s recent recognition with the 2024 Excellence in Multistate Research Award from the North Central Regional Association of State Agricultural Experiment Station Directors. This award, marking NCERA-101’s first national honor, acknowledges their significant contributions to advancing controlled environment agriculture. Established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, NCERA-101 comprises 176 members from 142 institutions and focuses on enhancing sustainability and profitability in agricultural practices through innovative technologies like LED lighting. The committee will also be celebrated at an upcoming award ceremony hosted by the Association of Public Land-grant Universities.
