Washington County Commissioners Sanction Extra Fund Allocations and Transfers

During a meeting on Thursday, the Washington County Commissioners approved multiple additional appropriations and transfers totaling approximately $700,000. The significant appropriations included $22,000 for attorney fees related to public defender costs, $350,000 for children services contract services, and $157,345 for a project on Township Road 559. Additionally, commissioners recognized upcoming inductees to the Washington County Veterans Hall of Fame and approved a resolution supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans, encouraging displays of green lights from Nov. 4-11. They also established a new EPA Brownfield Planning Fund and appointed members to various councils and boards. Other financial motions included paying bills, approving a $70,000 invoice for energy upgrades, and agreeing to donate a vehicle to a local training academy.
