Mild Weather Benefits City Workers in Setting Up Christmas Lights

City crews in Steinbach are taking advantage of the mild weather to decorate Main Street with festive Christmas lights. Currently, they are working on stringing approximately 36,000 LED lights across about 110 trees, starting with those in local parks and in front of City Hall. This year, with over 80 trees lining Main Street needing hundreds of feet of lights each, the installation is expected to take at least another week. Although the lights won’t be illuminated for a few weeks, the city aims to complete this task before temperatures drop into the single digits. By mid-November, residents can expect the streets to be aglow, enhancing the festive atmosphere alongside additional lights near City Hall, the water tower, and KR Barkman Park’s gazebo. Traffic signs are also being set up to ensure safety around the work zones.
