The Institute of Plant Production at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa, Italy, has launched an innovative technology container designed to advance research in vertical farming and indoor cultivation. This initiative, developed in collaboration with C-Led and Greatit, features a state-of-the-art facility for studying the responses of horticultural crops to various environmental conditions. The Demetra 2 isothermal container, customized by Greatit, is equipped with advanced systems for precise control of lighting, temperature, humidity, and fertigation, allowing researchers to simulate and analyze optimal growing conditions for different plant species. The versatile design includes adjustable LED lighting, climate control mechanisms, and specialized racks, making it particularly suitable for scientific experiments in agriculture technology.
