A new LED tomato cultivation learning group has been established, consisting of 27 growers and managers who will convene every four weeks to share insights and best practices. Led by Glastuinbouw Nederland and co-funded by the Kas als Energiebron innovation program, the group aims to address the unique challenges of growing tomatoes under full LED lighting, such as the absence of radiant heat compared to traditional light sources. The inaugural meeting in late October focused on cultivation strategies, particularly the generative approaches at the start of the growing season. Participants expressed enthusiasm for the collaborative initiative, which seeks to enhance knowledge and foster innovation within the sector.
