UK Export Finance (UKEF) is actively working to assist UK businesses, particularly those led by ethnic minorities, in expanding their export potential and increasing international sales. By providing access to loans, guarantees, and insurance policies, UKEF enables firms—especially small and underrepresented businesses—to break into global markets with greater ease. In the 2023/24 fiscal year, UKEF offered £8.8 billion in support, with initiatives like the General Export Facility allowing businesses to access working capital without needing specific export contracts. UKEF aims to boost inclusive growth and plans to support 1,000 small businesses annually by 2029, targeting increased services for those facing barriers to trade finance. Through consultations and partnerships, UKEF continues to make a significant impact on job creation and regional economic growth across the UK.
