Lobuk Village in East Java, primarily populated by traditional fishermen, faces significant challenges with over 500 poor families struggling to improve their livelihoods. Despite utilizing a local fishing tool called angghas, which aims to attract fish, the catch remains limited in quality and quantity due to outdated equipment and poor management practices. In response, the village government has formed a Tourism Awareness Group to tap into fishing tourism, allowing fishermen to earn extra income by managing angghas as fishing spots. To further enhance their capabilities, the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology has introduced innovative solutions, including Low-Cost GNSS technology for better management and Multicolor LED lights to attract fish. These advancements aim to boost both the efficiency of fishing methods and overall economic prosperity in Lobuk Village, offering hope for improved welfare for its fishermen.
