In a festive annual tradition, 14 students from Government Hill Elementary School and selected randomly participated in the lighting of a 157-foot Christmas tree mounted on the AT&T tower adjacent to their school in Anchorage, Alaska, on Wednesday afternoon. The students, chosen during a school assembly, also entertained their peers with holiday songs including “Baby Christmas Tree” and “Feliz Navidad.” The tree is adorned with an impressive 3,650 feet of amber, white, and green LED rope lights and this marks the 33rd year of this cherished community event.
