This Christmas, Exeter’s Northcott Theatre is presenting a modern twist on the classic tale of Cinderella, in collaboration with Stagecoach South West, focusing on sustainability. In a bid to promote greener travel options this festive season, the story features Cinderella opting for the number 4 bus instead of a traditional pumpkin carriage. The playful promotional trailer highlights her relatable dilemma of a broken-down car, encouraging locals to embrace public transport as an eco-friendly alternative. Both organizations emphasize the importance of small actions leading to significant changes, as they showcase efforts like repurposed sets and biodegradable materials in the pantomime. With an electric fleet set to launch next year, Stagecoach reinforces its commitment to cleaner travel. Performances of Cinderella will run from November 28, 2024, to January 5, 2025, with tickets starting at £21.50, inviting audiences to enjoy the show while choosing sustainable transport.
