The iconic bell tower of Idlewild Presbyterian Church, a landmark in Midtown since its completion in 1928, is set to be illuminated once again with a harmonious blend of warm and cool lights that will accentuate its architectural beauty, rekindling its role as a city beacon. The congregation is invited to participate in a special lighting ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. on December 4. Originally lit in 1952, the bell tower has remained dark for many years, with congregational historian Perre Magness noting that she cannot recall ever seeing it illuminated.
