Upgrades to Lighting at Fred Cone Park Have Been Finished

The City of Gainesville has announced the installation of new sports lighting at Fred Cone Park, enhancing the basketball courts and the southernmost multipurpose field. Players can now enjoy the basketball courts, which are lit from dusk until 10 p.m., on a first-come, first-served basis. The multipurpose field, located just south of the courts, is available for reservation during the same hours for a fee of $36 for a two-hour block. The lighting upgrades, completed by Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, total $454,586 and are funded by the Wild Spaces and Public Places half-cent sales tax.
