Grand County Commission Approaches Completion of 2025 Budget Proposal
On December 9, the Grand County Commission made significant strides towards finalizing its budget for 2025 during a public workshop, with a focus on various spending priorities totaling approximately $429,000. Key initiatives discussed include bolstering funding for Emergency Medical Services (EMS), with over $90,000 allocated for ambulance payments, and a commitment of $100,000 towards affordable housing efforts. Additionally, $20,000 was earmarked for enforcing dark sky lighting regulations. The commission plans to fund these initiatives primarily from the general fund and a portion of the recreation/film/convention fund. Following further adjustments, a final budget proposal will be presented for discussion and approval at the upcoming commission meeting on December 17.
