On November 26, 2024, Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and TODA Corporation announced their successful attainment of ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) certification in Japan, a significant milestone achieved during the construction of the new Ceramic Capacitor R&D Center in Fukui Prefecture. The project includes the installation of solar panels that will supply 49% of the power for a temporary on-site office, along with measures to reduce energy consumption by 54%. With an anticipated annual reduction of 22.9 tons of CO2 through energy savings and solar power generation, Murata aims to incorporate renewable energy technologies into the facility and continue utilizing the solar panels after the construction phase. This initiative aligns with Murata’s commitment to combat climate change and achieve carbon neutrality across its supply chain by 2050.
