On November 29, 2024, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrated the 38th annual Temple Lighting Ceremony at the Manila Philippines Temple, a beloved tradition that marks the start of the Christmas season in the country. The event brought together local Church leaders, government officials, and interfaith representatives who gathered for a dinner at the Manila Philippines Missionary Training Center before the ceremony. Area President Carlos G. Revillo Jr. emphasized the symbolic importance of the lights as a reflection of Jesus Christ, urging attendees to focus on service and kindness. The ceremony featured guest speakers, musical performances, and culminated in a countdown led by Elder Chi Hong Wong, who illuminated the temple grounds for the public to enjoy throughout the festive season. Senator Imee R. Marcos praised the temple’s role in inspiring hope and community togetherness, while Reverend Fr. Carlos V. Reyes highlighted its significance in promoting interfaith collaboration.
