New E-Sports Arena Debuts in Downtown Riverside

Riverside County officials are set to inaugurate The arena, a new facility dedicated to E-sports competitions and educational gatherings, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Superintendent of Schools Edwin Gomez expressed pride in providing students a modern venue to foster connections and explore gaming interests, which may lead to future career pathways. The $10.5 million facility, built on a former conference center site, features 4,000 square feet of customizable space, including retractable bleachers, LED screens, and areas for both E-Sports competitions and smaller conferences. The event will also showcase a “Super Smash Bros. Mini-Tournament,” where local youth will demonstrate the capabilities of the new gaming venue.
