Apple is working on a revolutionary lamp-like robot designed to enhance the work-at-home experience by providing interactive assistance. Set for a potential release around 2026 or 2027, this innovative robot will feature more human-like movements and expressive capabilities, enabling it to communicate effectively through nonverbal cues like gestures and posture. A prototype, showcased in a recent blog post from Apple’s Machine Learning team, includes two different models: an “Expressive” version that responds to voice commands and displays a range of emotions, and a more “Functional” version that performs tasks upon request. While still in the early stages of development, this endeavor could mark a significant advancement in home robotics, aligning with Apple’s broader vision for smart home devices.
