The Maryland Board of Public Works has allocated $5.4 million in grants through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to enhance parks and recreational facilities, particularly in St. Mary’s County. Key projects include the installation of new LED lighting and electrical upgrades at Chancellors Run Regional Park, aimed at improving safety and efficiency for sports and recreational activities. These initiatives are part of programs designed to support local governments in developing recreational spaces across Maryland. The Board, which includes Governor Wes Moore, Treasurer Dereck E. Davis, and Comptroller Brooke E. Lierman, oversees these project approvals.
