Grand Avenue Park in Chino Hills to Shine Brighter with New LED Lighting

The City of Chino Hills is set to invest $600,000 from its General Fund to retrofit sports lighting to LED fixtures at Grand Avenue Park, specifically for the soccer fields, basketball courts, and hockey/pickleball courts. The project, which aims to improve lighting levels and enhance user experience while reducing energy consumption, is scheduled to commence this summer during a period of low usage. ACE Electric has been awarded a $492,000 construction contract, with additional funding allocated for contingencies and incidental expenses related to the installation. According to Public Works Director Daniel Bobadilla, the upgrade is expected to lower long-term maintenance costs by minimizing lamp replacements and mitigating wear on the new artificial turf fields.
