The Module-Driver Interface Special Interest Group (MD-SIG) has unveiled its new specification for a universal electrical interface designed for LED lighting modules and power supplies, as reported by Electronic Weekly. The LEDset1 edition 1.0 standard, backed by industry leaders such as Osram, Panasonic, Philips, and Tridonic, features a three-wire interface that includes power, ‘lset’, and return connections. This configuration allows for separate returns for main and set currents, minimizing errors caused by return voltage drops. Notably, the ‘lset’ parameter is unrelated to dimming functions. For more information about the new standard, additional details are available through the provided link.
