Des Moines Youth Recreation Boosted by Caitlin Clark Foundation and Musco Lighting Partnership
Des Moines Public Schools is set to enhance youth sports opportunities with the addition of four new soccer and basketball courts at Hiatt, Callanan, McCombs, and Weeks Middle Schools, thanks to a collaboration between Musco Lighting and the Caitlin Clark Foundation. These courts, featuring Musco’s Mini-Pitch System, will provide accessible spaces for recreation and foster community connections among local youth. Superintendent Dr. Ian Roberts emphasized the importance of such facilities in promoting athletic engagement, while Caitlin Clark Foundation president Mary Coffin highlighted the vital role of sports in developing teamwork and communication skills. Musco CEO Jeff Rogers expressed pride in a partnership that aligns with their mission to increase access to safe and enjoyable play environments for children.
