Exploring the Renovations of the Blaisdell Concert Hall

The Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall has recently completed the first phase of a major renovation, which lasted 20 months, focusing on enhancing safety for backstage crews and modernizing the facility. Built 60 years ago, the Concert Hall’s upgrades included improvements to the electrical systems, refurbishing of 2,100 seats, replacement of stage drapery, and installation of energy-efficient LED lighting. These enhancements aim to attract top-tier performances, with the Hawaii Symphony, Hawaii Opera, and several Broadway shows slated for this year and next. However, another closure is planned for 2027 to further renovate the front-of-house area, which will involve updates to bathrooms and concessions, aiming to provide a first-class experience for attendees.
