Lighting Installation Project for Track at Northgate Sports Centre in Ipswich
Suffolk County Council, alongside agents Concertus, has proposed plans to enhance the lighting at the Ipswich sports facility, specifically targeting the athletics track and multi-use games area. This upgrade is crucial as the current lighting is failing and needs replacement; however, the proposal will preserve existing lighting columns while installing new LED fittings. The facility, which is heavily utilized by Northgate High School and various hockey and athletics clubs throughout the year, will see the new lights operational for a limited time—until 10pm in summer and from 4pm to 10pm in winter, five days a week—without any additional construction required.
