At the council meeting on March 18, councillors approved the tender of JXB Projects Pty Limited for the construction of a new $1,349,328 sporting amenity building at Pittwater Rugby Park, Warriewood, aimed at enhancing facilities for female athletes. Following a successful design phase completed in late 2023, which garnered 97% community support during public exhibition, construction is expected to commence in April 2025. The new facility will include female-friendly change rooms, restrooms, and showers, as well as accommodations for accessibility needs, in compliance with Rugby AU National Facility Guidelines. This initiative is part of a broader effort backed by the NSW Government’s Female Friendly Community Sport Facilities grant program, which has allocated significant funding to improve gender equality and safety in local sports venues.
