Ashok Leyland Launches New Bus Production Facility Near Vijayawada
Ashok Leyland, the flagship of the Hinduja Group, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art bus manufacturing facility near Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, aimed at boosting its production capabilities. Located at Malavalli, just 40 km from the city, the 75-acre plant is designed to manufacture a complete range of diesel and electric buses, with an impressive annual capacity of 4,800 units. The facility incorporates advanced manufacturing technologies and emphasizes sustainability, featuring rooftop solar panels, LED lighting, and battery-operated logistics vehicles. Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland, highlighted that the plant will address the rising demand for fully built buses in India and is set to operate at full capacity from the outset, given the company’s substantial order book.
