Community Input Requested on Street Lighting Consultation in Dorset

Dorset Council has initiated a review of street lighting in the region, seeking public input to inform potential changes aimed at enhancing safety, reducing energy consumption, and promoting environmental sustainability. This consultation will gather responses that will contribute to updates in the council’s street lighting policy, originally established in 2020. As part of this initiative, the council is actively replacing outdated sodium lights with energy-efficient LED streetlights, which can reduce energy use by up to 60%.
