Korb Family Donates $565,000 to Advance Engineering Research at Behrend

A generous $565,000 donation from Penn State alumni William and Wendy Korb will establish a permanent fund dedicated to enhancing research and innovative teaching within the School of Engineering at Penn State Behrend. This funding aims to improve teaching methods, support faculty and student research initiatives, and upgrade the school’s teaching and research labs. Chancellor Ralph Ford noted that the gift will lead to immediate enhancements in facilities and equipment, enriching undergraduates’ research experiences and aiding in faculty recruitment and retention. To honor the Korbs’ ongoing contributions, the lobby of the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Center has been named the Korb Family Atrium. The Korb family has a rich history of supporting Penn State, including previous scholarships and professorships, emphasizing their belief in the value of educational investment.
