The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has announced three faculty members from The University of Texas at Austin as part of its prestigious 100th class of Guggenheim Fellows. Swarat Chaudhuri, a computer science professor, will develop an AI agent capable of proposing new mathematical problems and solutions, while Felicano Giustino, a physics professor, aims to explore newly discovered quasiparticles in studies relevant to quantum technologies. Eli Durst, an associate professor of studio art, will embark on a photographic project to investigate the appeal of large evangelical church congregations in Texas.
