City officials have unanimously approved a transformative $650 million plan for Bank of America stadium, altering the land use of 25.30 acres and allowing for significant upgrades. The initiative will expand public spaces beyond typical zoning requirements, featuring new pathways connecting Morehead and Mint Street, as well as a tunnel linking practice facilities to Graham Street. Enhancements to the fan experience include outdoor screens, improved seating, modern restrooms, and a scenic deck with city views. The preservation of the “Cat Walk” ensures connectivity for both sports fans and locals. As the stadium also aligns with the future LYNX Silver Line route, access for visitors is expected to improve. This marks the first major renovation since the 1990s, focusing on sustainability with energy-efficient technologies. With the final city approval secured, Tepper Sports & Entertainment now faces the next steps in the construction process.
