The Impact of Lighting on Our Lives

Battistini Vivai has unveiled VitroLeaf, the largest commercial micropropagation laboratory in Europe, located in Cesena. This state-of-the-art facility emphasizes automation and advanced lighting technology, in partnership with C-Led, to optimize plant growth in vitro. Central to the lab is the VitroLeaf Tower, an impressive 8-meter high and 67-meter long culture room designed to house up to 3.5 million plantlets under precisely controlled LED lighting conditions. The facility, which features 262 photovoltaic panels for energy efficiency, aims to produce 24 million plants over the next five years while tripling efficiency in production processes. The lab also includes dedicated research areas to tailor conditions for different plant species and enhance overall product quality. Battistini and C-Led will be showcasing their innovations at the upcoming Micropropagation – VitroSOI2024 conference, scheduled for October 14-17, 2024, in Viterbo.
