Swedish startup BrainLit, based in Lund, has successfully raised approximately €5 million in funding, spearheaded by an undisclosed U.S. fund and supported by existing investors. The investment aims to further develop its innovative “BioCentric Lighting” system, which simulates natural daylight to improve health and well-being, particularly in sports, healthcare, and office environments. Founded in 2012 by Tord Wingren, a pioneer in Bluetooth technology, BrainLit addresses the health challenges posed by modern indoor lifestyles, providing lighting solutions that align with biological needs and enhance circadian rhythms. With plans to shift towards a software-centric business model, the company continues to expand its global footprint while maintaining strong ties to local academic and research institutions in Lund.
