Alumni Association Supports S-GI Sports Initiatives

Jim Prawel, an alumnus of Springville-Griffith Institute (S-GI) from the Class of 1985, has founded the S-GI sports Alumni Association to support the school’s sports programs and its student-athletes. Established in fall 2022, the association aims to raise funds for scholarships, sports equipment, and facility improvements, such as a new enhanced lighting system for Pop Warner Field. With 18 members and growing, the organization has already awarded scholarships to student-athletes and created the Duane Haven’s football Trench Award to honor outstanding linemen. To finance future projects, the association hosts fundraisers, including an upcoming golf tournament scheduled for July 2025. Interested alumni are encouraged to join the initiative to contribute to the ongoing development of S-GI’s athletic programs.
