The Gibraltar Town Board is set to review a recommendation from the Plan Commission regarding a conditional use permit for the Door Community Auditorium Corporation’s proposed new Assembly Hall at 3931 State Hwy 42, the site of the former Fish Creek Grill. The Plan Commission held a public hearing on March 24, ultimately supporting the application, as it aligns with zoning regulations and the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. Conditions for approval include adherence to Dark Sky lighting standards, noise ordinances, and landscaping for neighboring properties. Following the town’s consideration, the application will head to the County of Door Resource Planning Committee for a public hearing on April 17, before it reaches the Door County Board of Supervisors. Previously, the Auditorium had obtained a conditional use permit in August 2021 for this site, but the intended uses were not established.
