Asus has unveiled its latest ROG Strix Scar gaming laptops, which feature an extensive array of LED “AniMe” lights that aim to create a vibrant light show on their lids, surpassing even the illumination of the ROG Phone 9. The Strix Scar 16 and 18 models are powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processor and can be equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, providing robust performance along with a 240 Hz mini-LED display that supports Nvidia G-Sync and Dolby Vision HDR. While these laptops are hefty at around 6.28 pounds, they offer easily replaceable components, supporting up to 64 GB of RAM and 2 TB of SSD storage. Additionally, ROG introduced the Flow Z13, a Windows-based gaming tablet powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU, featuring a 2.5K display and cooling technologies to manage its performance. The diverse lineup showcased at CES 2025 reflects Asus’ commitment to appealing to both lighting aficionados and serious gamers.
