Beyoncé launched her highly anticipated “Cowboy Carter Tour” on Monday at Los Angeles’ SoFi stadium, captivating audiences with a groundbreaking LED dress designed by Kunihiko Morinaga of Anrealage. The stunning garment, featuring approximately 35,000 full-color LEDs, transformed in real-time to enhance her performance of “Daughter.” Morinaga, who previously collaborated with Beyoncé during her “Renaissance” era, crafted the dress over one-and-a-half months in partnership with Mplusplus, integrating a sophisticated wireless control system for the lights. The dress’s design, inspired by traditional Japanese architecture, showcased a dynamic light display, transitioning through various motifs, ultimately culminating in an explosion of visual effects. With 32 shows planned in nine cities across the U.S. and Europe, the tour promises to be a significant cultural event.
