In Crystal Lake, residents Jacci and Dan Click have become a beloved holiday tradition, attracting hundreds of visitors nightly with their 17-foot-tall Santa and dazzling light displays at their home, dubbed “Clickmas in Crystal Lake.” For over 20 years, they have adorned their lawn with festive decorations while simultaneously running food drives to benefit local seniors in need. This year, donations will support Jacci’s nonprofit, Fisher Outreach Group Adopt-A-Grandparent. The Clicks invite community members to donate nonperishable food items at their home from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve, fostering a spirit of giving alongside their holiday cheer. Meanwhile, in nearby McHenry, the Tomasheski family is also spreading holiday joy with their synchronized light show and food drive for local veterans and food pantries. Both families exemplify the festive spirit of the season by combining spectacular displays with community outreach.
