The Stanley Deason Leisure Centre has upgraded its aging granwood floor to a new seamless polyurethane surface, addressing maintenance challenges and enhancing safety and comfort for users. The £34,000 project, funded by Brighton and Hove City Council with a 30% contribution from Freedom Leisure, features durable Pulastic flooring that promises long-lasting performance. Councillor Alan Robins expressed his satisfaction with the timely installation, just ahead of Christmas, highlighting the value residents place on local leisure facilities. The updated sports hall now includes markings for badminton, pickleball, basketball, netball, volleyball, and five-a-side football, complementing recent improvements such as LED lighting and cricket fixtures. This upgrade is part of the council’s ongoing sports facilities investment plan aimed at developing and enhancing community sports resources over the next decade.
