Canfield Rotary Organizes Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

Despite frigid temperatures with wind chills barely above zero, community spirit shone brightly at the annual Canfield Lighting of the Green held on Saturday night. Sponsored by the Canfield Rotary Club and co-chaired by Anthony Nacarato, this festive event featured the illumination of 64 trees, numerous carriage rides, and various community activities, including musical performances and free refreshments at local establishments. With the assistance of many corporate and individual donors, the event aims to raise $15,000 for Rotary projects, drawing attention to the organization’s impressive fund-raising efforts over the years. Mayor Don Dragish highlighted the importance of the gathering in fostering community togetherness, while attendees enjoyed the holiday cheer with visits to Santa Claus and giveaways of commemorative ornaments.
