Castanea's Tree Lighting Shines Bright

The Castanea Township community came together on November 29 for the Annual Tree Lighting ceremony at the corner of Brown Street and Jarrett Avenue. The event highlighted performances from the Central Mountain High School and Middle School bands, along with soloist Amy Conklin Weaver accompanied by guitarist Todd Powlus, and featured a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus. The tree was generously donated by local residents, and the festivities included a lighted Nativity display, Santa’s Mailbox, and a portable ice skating rink. Attendees enjoyed music, hot chocolate, and the unveiling of the Fire Company’s new truck, with the event facilitated by the cooperation of local supervisors, fire company members, and numerous community volunteers.
