Sandy Springs, Georgia, celebrated a record turnout at its Sparkle Parade on December 8, with approximately 6,500 attendees enjoying an array of holiday festivities in the downtown City Springs district. The event featured live music, ice skating, food trucks, and vibrant Christmas displays, culminating in a lively parade that saw an enthusiastic crowd lining the streets. Notable highlights included performances from local school marching bands, dancers from Namari Dance Center, and appearances by Star Wars cosplayers. The parade also showcased the inaugural Sparkle Village contest, with The Davis Academy taking first place for their decorated miniature homes. Mayor Rusty Paul led the community in the lighting of the Hanukkah menorah and Christmas tree amidst the celebrations, marking the beginning of a festive season that will continue with activities like the ongoing Skate Sandy Springs ice rink, which remains open until January 20.
