Denver International Airport Launches Innovative Customer Experience Initiative

Denver International Airport (DIA) has launched “Open Windows,” an innovative digital customer experience located on the B Concourse near gate B51. Developed by the Denver-based team at Signal-to-Noise Media Labs, this interactive installation features an 11-foot-tall tower made of 128 custom LED rings and utilizes motion-detection technology to engage passengers in a unique way. According to DIA’s chief commercial officer, John Ackerman, the initiative aims to enhance travelers’ experiences through a blend of art, technology, and entertainment. The installation, led by University of Colorado lecturer Jeff Merkel, is designed to evolve with programmable games and activities, ensuring that each visit offers a distinct interaction. Open Windows incorporates over 7,680 LED lights and sophisticated motion tracking systems, showcasing DIA’s commitment to pioneering innovation in airport environments.
