Dixon and Signify Reach Agreement to Collaborate on OEM Lighting Products and Accessories

Dixon Technologies, led by Sunil Vachani, has entered into a binding term sheet with Dutch multinational Signify to form a joint venture in India, focusing on the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) of lighting products and accessories. This collaboration supports the Indian government’s initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ Both companies will retain equal 50% stakes in the joint venture, while they will not hold shares in each other. The partnership aims to leverage Signify’s technological expertise alongside Dixon’s manufacturing capabilities to produce high-quality lighting products competitively in India. Atul B. Lall, Vice Chairman and MD of Dixon, emphasized the sharing of core values between the partners, while Sumit Joshi, MD and CEO of Signify Innovations India, highlighted the venture’s alignment with the government’s vision for indigenous manufacturing. The joint venture is set to handle part of Signify’s OEM orders and will also cater to other brands, reinforcing Dixon’s position as a leading contract manufacturer in the country.
