Drone Display at Dallas New Year’s Eve Celebration Canceled Following Florida Crash
This year’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Reunion Tower in Dallas will proceed without a planned drone display, following a recent incident involving a drone crash during a holiday event in Florida that left a boy injured. Sky Elements, the Coppell-based drone company that was set to provide the drones, opted out of the event “out of an abundance of caution” as they review their safety protocols. Despite the absence of the drone component, the fireworks and LED light show will continue as intended, featuring over 5,000 pyrotechnic effects. The 10-minute show is set to begin at 11:59 p.m. and can be viewed from select venues or streamed live on various platforms. Sky Elements expressed regret over missing the event, which they have participated in for the past three years.
