Frisco is set to host its inaugural dark sky outreach event on Wednesday, April 23, at the Frisco Adventure Park Day Lodge, aimed at educating residents about bird migration and the impact of light pollution on these journeying species. Led by Richard O’Brien from DarkSky Colorado, the session will offer insights into ways the community can assist migratory birds by reducing artificial outdoor lighting during the peak spring migration season. Starting at 6 p.m., the event will feature complimentary snacks and drinks, with staff on hand to discuss Frisco’s pursuit of International DarkSky Community Certification. Two subsequent events are also planned, including a Summer Solstice celebration on June 21 and a viewing of the Perseid meteor shower on August 12. For more information, visit DarkSky.org.
