Funding Initiative Enables Care Home to Reduce Energy Expenses and Enhance Comfort

Rugby Care Centre has significantly reduced its energy costs by over £15,000 annually following a £44,000 grant from Warwickshire County Council, which was matched by the care home. The funds were utilized for upgrades including a new boiler, double-glazed windows and doors, and LED sensor lighting, resulting from a complimentary energy audit provided by the Warwickshire business Energy Advice Service (WBEAS). Owner Jay Dodhia reported that these enhancements have transformed the 1850s building into a warmer and brighter environment for residents. Local officials emphasize the importance of energy efficiency in fostering a sustainable economy and encourage other businesses to seek free energy audits from WBEAS before the program concludes in March.
