Lighting company Glamox has secured contracts to supply marine LED lighting for four additional Aurora Class vessels operated by Höegh Autoliners, following an earlier agreement for the first eight vessels in October 2022. Each vessel, designed to transport 9,100 cars and capable of operating on ammonia, will be outfitted with approximately 3,000 LED lights, ensuring optimal illumination across various sections, from navigation to crew quarters. The energy-efficient lights promise significant maintenance savings with warranties of up to 100,000 hours. Glamox’s lighting will be delivered to China Merchants Heavy Industry for installation in Nantong, China, with the new vessels anticipated to launch by July 2027. Deliveries for the initial eight vessels, which began in September 2023, are set to continue until May 2025.
