The iconic neon sign from The Chief Hotel, CafĂ© and Bar, a historic landmark on Idaho 55 in downtown Cascade, was taken down on Wednesday due to necessary repairs to the building it has adorned since 1946, now known as Palooza Basecamp & Eatery. The sign’s removal also ended its status as a grandfathered structure under Cascade’s dark sky lighting regulations established in 2019.
