Jabil Enhances Silicon Photonics for Advanced AI and Data Center Technologies

Jabil, a leader in design and manufacturing solutions, is investing in silicon photonics to support the growing needs of hyperscalers and AI-driven data center growth. Set to enhance its Ottawa facility in late 2024, Jabil’s new product introduction (NPI) line will offer advanced capabilities such as fluxless flip-chip and fiber attachment, facilitating the transition from proof of concept to mass production for photonics customers. These innovations will improve the performance and reliability of photonics solutions, particularly in high-speed connectivity applications like co-packaged optics. Executive Vice President Matt Crowley emphasized that this expansion will significantly accelerate product development for clients, reducing the need for costly trial and error. Jabil continues to push the boundaries of silicon photonics technology, focusing on enhanced performance and power efficiency for next-generation data centers.
