Local Authority Recognized for Successful Implementation of Smart LED Street Lighting Initiative

The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) was awarded ‘Excellence in Smart and Sustainable Street Lighting Solutions’ for its successful implementation of a Smart LED street lights project at the Elets Urban Innovation Infrastructure Summit in Panchkula. Mayor Inderjit Kaur accepted the award on behalf of the MC, highlighting that over 1.05 lakh conventional street lights have been replaced with Smart LED luminaries. The project, executed under the Energy Saving Company (ESCO) model by Tata Projects Limited, has led to significant financial benefits, yielding a monthly energy savings of Rs 2 crore for the MC.
