Arkinstall Park in Tweed Heads is undergoing significant improvements totaling over $1 million, benefitting various sports including baseball, netball, soccer, and tennis, in preparation for the 2025 seasons. The Tweed Shire Council, in collaboration with the Northern Rivers Baseball Association, secured $325,000 from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund to establish new baseball facilities, marking a long-awaited advancement for the local baseball community. Additional enhancements include the installation of LED lighting for the Tweed United soccer club, funded by the NSW Government’s Regional Sports Facility Fund, which will improve efficiency and reduce costs. Netball facilities also received $825,000 in upgrades supported by Council funding, while Voyager has been appointed as the new operator of the tennis center, introducing tailored coaching programs. The Council is emphasizing its commitment to cater to the growing needs of the Tweed community through these investments.
